5th dnd – Can an element of time be part of the description in Animal Messenger?

My druid wants to warn unsuspecting travelers to take a shortcut leading to a danger that the party faces. Can he use Animal Messenger to do it?

Animal Messenger declares:

You specify a location that you must have visited and a recipient that matches a general description

Does this language allow my druid to specify something like "Go to a crossroads and say to the first person who arrives," Avoid the road from the west ""?

The examples given in the text all imply that the messenger searches for the recipient and immediately gives the message, and the following text implies that there is no expectation on the part of the messenger.

When the messenger arrives, he transmits your message. . .

The only limitation mentioned specifically with respect to time is the duration of the 24-hour spell.
