I have a new laptop and I am trying to install Ubuntu dualboot with Windows 10.
I am in the GRUB menu after USB boot where the options are:
- Try Ubuntu without installing
- Install Ubuntu
- OEM installation
- Check the disk for defects
Whatever I choose, I get a black screen after.
I tried many things while I was looking for a solution. In UEFI, I set SATA to AHCI, disable secure boot and fast boot.
I've tried editing the GRUB command by replacing
quiet splash with
nvidia.modeset = 0 or
new.modeset = 0. Nothing helped.
I used Ubuntu on my old laptop and everything works fine. I've also tried booting from the USB drive from another PC and it works. So, there is no problem in USB support.
I have a new Asus ZenBook Pro 14 UX480
- Intel Core i7 8565U CPU Whiskey Lake
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q GPU
Thank you for any advice!
