chrome for android – Why browsers no longer accept JavaScript settings per site?

Before, I could block JavaScript on Chrome for Android for a specific site. I could leave JavaScript enabled as a general setting and add an exception for a site that annoyed me with its JavaScript code.

Conversely, I can only disable JavaScript globally and add an exception for the sites I want to use.

This is nonsense because most sites need JavaScript to work properly, but some sites sometimes make use of JavaScript / JavaScript and should be blocked.

Is there a reason for browsers to make this change? On desktop computers, Chrome can still block JavaScript per site.
