No, OpenGL is fine 🙂 and it will not go away anytime soon. In addition to implementing a game engine, it usually includes an abstraction layer between most of your code base and the GPU. Therefore, a subsequent exchange can be tedious, but not impossible. And you will probably find libraries that make OpenGL conversion to Vulkan much easier.
