Do you use a variant system for D & D 3.5? If so, which system do you use?
I'm starting a new campaign soon and want to give players the ability to make things instead of bartering / looting them. The basic manufacturing system is too heavy and takes too long to manufacture. I am aware of the craft points system and this is certainly the type of direction I want to take, but the large number of crafting points is not desirable. This limits and to some extent prevents players from experimenting and finding the right items they want / need.
