How to use the new column type "Invisible" of MariaDB

I played with this new type of column. The use case being that I want to hide this column to a client issuing a "Select *" request.

But the column seems to behave like any normal column and is not hidden. I have enabled the invisible column type by using the following command:

ALTER TABLE MyTable ADD COLUMN `TestA` INT INVISIBLE;

When reading from the MariaDB documentation, the examples provided are for Create statements only. What makes me wonder if we can enable this feature only when creating a table and NOT with an Alter instruction? Can one enlighten us?
