interface – Why do not some online stores allow you to open a product page in a new tab?

It seems that some online shops are trying to force the user to open the detail page of a product in a new tab. If you click the product while holding down the Ctrl key, the page will remain open in the current tab and you will have to explicitly use the context menu to do it.

I've even seen a website where every product of the presentation page does not seem to be accessible via a concrete link, but programmed only with Javascript, ie you can not even open the page in a new tab using the context menu.

What is the purpose of such a design? Do they want to deliberately discourage product comparison? I am always bored by these sites because I always compare several products at the same time. This has a negative impact on my experience.
