Is News.app a resource hog for anybody else?

I am on a 2017 MBP using macOS Catalina. I have noticed the News.app is taking up 8xx MB of memory whereas a similar app like Stocks.app takes up only a tenth (~80 MB) of memory.

Any ideas on how to reduce it’s footprint?
