Lighting – Why did my Yongnuo YN685 flash stop working after being triggered by the camera?

In the middle of a photo shoot, I had the idea of taking flash pictures with the camera. Here is the material I used:

  • camera: Nikon D7100
  • speed of light: Yongnuo YN685
  • radio trigger: Yongnuo YN622 TX-N

I realized that I had forgotten flash support in another room. I managed to balance the ground. My idea was to create an effect with a colored gel behind the subject. The radio trigger triggered the flash.

But then, when I tried to put the flash back on the top of the camera, it did not turn on. There were new batteries but did not turn on at all. I did not feel a burn. Did I make a mistake in pulling him while he was on the ground?
