In still water a tugboat can travel 16 mi/hr. It travels 49 mi
upstream and 49 mi downstream in a total time of 6.29 hr. What is the
speed of the current?

In every example I can find of this type of problem, the respective times traveled upstream and downstream are given, but not the distance. Here we have the distance traveled upstream and the distance traveled downstream, and the cumulative time traveled overall, but not the times traveled upstream and downstream.

How do I go about finding the speed of the river current given these data points?
