pathfinder – Is there an alternative list of armor protection depending on the type of damage (S, P, B)?

It makes absolutely no sense to me that a coat of mail gives the same protection against a sword and a hammer, for example. A chain mail is great against cutting weapons but almost useless against clubs.

In fact, medieval armor was primarily designed to fight swords.

I remember that at AD & D, there was another system to change armor protection depending on the type of damage.

Do you know there is another system in Pathfinder that corrects this blunted distortion and adds more realism to the game?

If there are any, I am curious to know what would be the dexterity in the equation. Because it was essential for fighters with good dodge skills to turn deadly blows into deadly strikes into softer strikes and survive.
