print – What is the benefit of making real black and white gelatin prints rather than in color, from a black and white film?

I have recently developed some rolls of black and white film. When choosing 4-inch printing options, I could either opt for color prints or, for an additional cost, black-and-white prints. I opted for one of my rolls printed on black and white gelatin paper, and the other on color paper.

In the end, I could not see any difference between the true black and white prints on gelatin and the black and white roll printed on colored paper.

Is there a concrete and conceivable reason for wanting to print my black and white rolls on true black and white gelatin paper if I only want to use them for personal use, or is it just a matter of personal use? a marketing gadget?
