linux – Vnc viewer error: unable connect to socket: Connection refused (111) in CentOS 8

I would like you to help me with the following problem. I will try to give as many details as possible.

I recently installed a vnc server on a Centos8 virtual machine. I have done all the configuration steps, which are in this file, (which by the way is the one that vnc recommends using, since I think vnc was updated and the configuration method is not the same as before). Once this is done, the server is working without problem. (apparently)
The problem arises when I want to connect from another virtual machine (Fedora), the server rejects the connection and gives the following error:

In the server I execute the following instruction

vncviewer localhost:5901

I have consulted in some forums, and it is mentioned that it is a firewall problem that does not let the communication pass. So disable the firewall and Selinux)on both virtual machines, however the problem persists.
I know that the server is running correctly, because I get the following output.

Maybe it looks like a duplicate question from the following forum. And indeed it is, I just can’t find a relation, since vnc has been updated and the configuration is not the same (that is, to start the server, I can no longer put the command “vncserver”), and I assume that the solution will not be the same

networking – Linux rhel / centos, configure network bridge between two interfaces to communicate with secondary host (Using VMware)

Need
I have two Linux hosts. Host1 and Host2.
I need to be able to communicate with host2 on our network through a bridge built on Host1.

Problem:
br0 is pingable, but when ens161 and ens192 are both enabled, and I try to ping the br0 on Host1 I get “(!DUP)”s. I think this is caused by vmware’s pernicious mode on both port networks assigned to each vm. The main problem is, I cannot ping Host2 at all from the network.

Environment

Host1 (RHEL 7.9) has two interfaces. Want to use network-scripts to configure the interfaces.

  • ens161 – network connection to LAN – Uses vmware port-network-01
  • ens192 – network connection to host2 – Uses vmware port-network-02

Host2 (Ubuntu 18.04) has one interfaces. Want to use netplan for this interface.

  • ens160 – network connection to host1 – Uses vmware port-network-02

Host1 has the bridge set up called “br0”, and has network-script configured to give it an ip interface
Note these are virtual machines living on ESXi’s, their nics are connected to vmware port networks, each of which are on seperate vlans. Port networks are connected to a distributed switch.

Trouble shooting:

  • I followed the instructions from this post. Did not seem to help. The topology is the same as mine besides the different network interface names.
    bridge network between two linux servers
  • Made sure to turn on pernicious mode and forged transmits on both port networks in vmware.
  • I stoped and disabled NetworkManager
  • I deployed a new ubuntu 18.04 system, and was able to configure the network bridge with netplan with no problems, it just worked.

Final thoughts
I know little to nothing about linux bridging, hence why I set up this lab to learn it. If I am going about this the wrong way, or not using bridges as intended, tell me. I want to make sure I understand the concepts as well as how to configure Linux bridging properly on Debian and RHEL systems.

Cannot sign in to VNCServer with Home subscription on CentOS 7

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to sign in with my RealVNC account on Linux. Whenever I execute vncserver it prompts me to run vnclicense to license the program, but I do not have an enterprise license as my account has the home plan, which does not utilize license keys. centos8 – unable to install openssh server on centos 8

centos – SELinux setting default boolean value throws error, “could not convert system_u:object_r:systemd_sleep_exec_t:s0 to sid”. How is this fixed?

Environment: Digital Ocean Droplet, CentOS 8

The State of httpd_can_network_relay is set to on. However the Default is set to off.

$ sudo semanage boolean -l | grep httpd_can_network_relay

httpd_can_network_relay        (on   ,  off)  Allow httpd to can network relay

However when I attempt to set the default to on I get an error. I’m not sure how to approach this.

centos – Can’t access SSH to Linux VM on Azure

To troubleshoot the connectivity.

Double check for the firewall on Azure portal
Check for NSG Policy
Check for Allowing the SSH Inbound from the internet or specific IP Address
Check for changing the default SSH port if its 22 or another port.

my solution was by entering Serial Console on Azure Portal
check on netata -anlp for checking SSH service is listening,
allowing rule of the SSH port on firewall
In my case the SSH is non-standard port let’s assume its 1234 (in your case may vary)

in the Serial console try the following command to add ssh rule.

firewall-cmd –reload
if that does not work then add the custom port of the SSH if that is customized.
firewall-cmd –add-port=1234/tcp –permanent
firewall-cmd –reload

then try to access the target vm by the SSH client

linux – phpMyAdmin in a seperate domain in centos 7

The issue right now is that I want to maintain a database and I have planned to manage that with phpmyadmin and i have configured it but right now what it looks like is

mydomain.com/phpmyadmin

What now is I Want

anotherdomain.com ==> phpmyadmin management site

so are there any ways to do this
