chunk – is there a use case for pie charts cut by date?

I don't like pie charts. They have many documented faults. However, some of our customers still love them, so we support them.

The question is, is there a valid use case for a pie chart cut by date? As each segment is a different date.

I don't see why it would be beneficial to display the information in this format.

shell – Linux console text editor with text selection with Windows / Mac style change arrow, cut, exit and save

I have a base of novice terminal users who need to make extremely light text changes from a console (creating git commits, etc.). I would like to set EDITOR to something that keyboard binding looks as much as possible to a standard "web browser text box" with ctrl-s and ctrl-q to save / exit.

I have tried jed, ne, joe, nano and micro, but none of them have all the features that I would like:

  1. Block selection: Shift-Arrow should expand the cursor in the appropriate direction to select a block, just like on Windows / Mac / Gnome / etc.
  2. Copy / Cut / Paste: Must be Ctrl-C, Ctrl-X, Ctrl-V
  3. Save: should be Ctrl-S
  4. Exit: should be Ctrl-Q

  5. Nice to have: an ncurses (ala ne) menu bar that appears when they press Esc

  6. Nice to have: Ctrl-F to find, Ctrl-G to find next

Any suggestion?

algorithms – Points of articulation (or cut vertices), but only a subset of vertices must be connected

I know we can find all the articulation points efficiently in a graph using DFS.

But what if all the nodes don't have to be connected, but instead we have a set of pairs of nodes that have to communicate (there is a path between them). How to efficiently find all the nodes (vertices) whose removal will cause the disconnection of some of the mentioned pairs (cannot communicate with each other)?

For example, we can have different cases for the image below (graphic not oriented):

  1. If the pairs are A-B and C-D, then 2 is not cut at the top, because the pairs
    Stay connected.
  2. If the pairs are A-C and B-D, then 2 is cut at the top,
because the pairs cannot communicate (there is no path between them).

If we know a set of pairs that need to communicate, what is the most efficient way to find all the "vertex cuts"?

dnd 5th – What does the Vorpal sword ignoring cut resistance actually mean?

There is no general rule for magic weapons and resistances or immunities. It is difficult to prove a negative result, but you can consult the DMG on page 140 for the general description of magic weapons.

What is at stake here is that many creatures have resistance (and sometimes immunity) More precisely to non-magical attacks. However, this is explicitly stated in their statistics block, and there are cases that are just resisting a type of global damage, magic or not (for example, swarms, from MM 337, or raging barbarians) .

Thus, the additional ability of the vorpal sword is not superfluous, as it makes the weapon more effective against creatures that resist sharp damage from all sources.

real analysis – Try to prove that a certain region of $ mathbb {R} ^ 2 _ {> 0} $ has a limited number of intervals when it is cut by a line

Let $ R $ to be a subset of $ mathbb {R} ^ 2 _ {> 0} $ so that the following conditions are met:
$$
x <y <x (1 + sqrt {1 + frac {B} {A}})
$$

$$
y (Ay + Bx) leq E
$$

$$
C leq y
$$

$$
D leq A y + B x
$$

or $ A, B, C, D, E $ are positive numbers.
I would like to prove that there is $ N> 0 $ (which does not depend on $ A, B, C, D, E $)such as
$ mathbb {R} times {y_0 } cap R $ and $ {x_0 } times mathbb {R} cap R $
is a union of at most $ N $ intervals for everything $ x_0 $ and $ y_0 $. I would appreciate a solution for this. Thank you.

directx11 – Find out why the vertices are cut

I'm trying to understand why, with abrupt cuts in geometry, some vertices seem to be eliminated for some reason.

I have a height map to demonstrate it like this

enter description of image here

And this is the result that I get

enter description of image here

See the red rectangles where the geometry has just been cut and the skybox is displayed behind.

I'm not sure where to start looking where the problem might be.
I know it's not colliding with the z-near value.
Any non-stiff geometry is suitable. Pointers?

EDIT: from certain angles, the reorientation of the camera modifies things a little, like this

dnd 5e – Can a multi-class Lore bard / druid use the Cut words function in Wild mode?

The College of Lore's Cut Words function says:

Still at the 3rd level, you learn to use your mind to distract, confuse and otherwise undermine the confidence and competence of others. When a creature you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, ability check, or damage roll, you can use your reaction to spend one of your uses bardic inspiration, roll a bardic inspiration die and subtract the rolled number from the creature's throw. You can choose to use this feature after the creature has rolled, but before the DM determines whether the attack roll or ability check succeeds or fails, or before the creature does Inflicts his wounds. The creature is immune if it cannot hear you or if it is immune to hornbeam.

The relevant part of the druid's Wild Shape functionality says:

  • You retain the advantage of all the features of your class, race or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. However, you cannot use any of your special senses, such as darkvision, unless your new form also has that sense.

Now, although the "words" are in the title of the ability, it never says that you should be able to speak. In fact, you "distract, confuse and otherwise shake the confidence of others".

He says the target creature must be able to hear; he doesn't say he should be able to understand you. So, although the final call goes back to the DM, it seems likely that you can still disturb and distract by roaring, yelling, etc. in your wild form. A dancing and roaring bear, for example, is still quite distracting.

value – What if John McAfee is right about 1 Bitcoin = 1 million USD by the end of 2020? Will this "Bitcoin cut in half" be the catalyst?

The next Bitcoin Halving will take place on May 20, 2020. It will be the third time that the best-known blockchain block reward will be halved. As a result, miners will earn 50% less BTC for each block generated. Experts expect this development to change the value of bitcoin. In the past, each of these events has boosted the valuation of the bitcoin market by more than a thousand percent. As a result of this development, awareness of cryptocurrencies has increased. However, few people talk about BTC and the upcoming halving.

The last halving took place in July 2016, when the BTC was worth $ 600. Looking back, we can say that this last halving was the start of the big bull run of 2017. In this bull run, the price of BTC exploded and marked a new all-record high of $ 19,783.06 . So, should investors buy bitcoin in 2020? In our view, the most interesting development regarding the upcoming halving will be the development of the price of bitcoin. If halving will have the same impact as in the past, we could see a new historic record in 2021. It is even possible that bitcoin will reach a new historic record at 10 times its current valuation.

The price of Bitcoin has given me a lot of anxiety over the years, despite never having a ton of it. Just the few I have (or at least I thought I always do – they are in an "offline" wallet. It would be worth serious money if the price soared to $ 1 million each.

Not knowing for sure what is going to happen is killing me. What if John McAfee was right about it and I hadn't invested all the money I could? Then I'm going to sit over there and swear and curse in 2021 … But on the other hand, it's like madness to plow my meager savings for these ultra-expensive Bitcoins ( from a buyer's perspective) …

Unity will not cut images correctly

Okay, so I'm very new to game development and imported a .png file (made in Paint) into the assets and that file just contains a circle and an oval, not touching and distant from each other, both colored blue. When I open the sprite editor and click on the splice, select Automatic and Delete the existing options and click on slice, I don't get different sprites , one containing the circle and the other containing the oval. The image is not cropped at all. I have also set the sprite mode to Multiple, but to no avail.

Can anyone help me and tell me what i am doing wrong? The engine I use is Unity.
