5th dnd – What are the dead ends on the way to Shackled City's adventure?

I'm looking to convert Shackled City's adventure path into 5th, and one of the things I found in my research is that early chapters do not necessarily relate very well to history.

I want to remedy this as part of my planning (because the lack of information about the narrative is nil), but reading a book of 446 pages and trying to connect all this in my head is a daunting task.

So: what threads of plot, NPCs, factions, groups or other things that a party would usually interact with or be curious about (especially in the early chapters), then disappear with little (or no) explanation to reappear on the way to adventure?

It does not bother me (obviously) to spoil the spoilers, and if anyone has any suggestions (supported by the experience of a good subjective / subjective bad way) on how to to avoid these dead ends, it would be great, but outside the scope of the question.

sequences and series – The limit of the ends of the interval according to $ n $

For $ n in mathbb {N_0} $ Consider the following sequence of intervals:

begin {align}
A_k &: =[k, k + 1), quad k in mathbb {N_0} \
frac {A_k} {2} &: = left[ frac {k} {2}, frac {k + 1} {2} right), quad k in mathbb {N_0} \
. \
. \
. \
frac {A_k} {2 ^ n} &: = left[ frac {k} {2 ^ n}, frac {k + 1} {2 ^ n} right), quad k in mathbb {N_0}
end {align}

Clearly, for each $ n in mathbb {N_0} $intervals $ frac {A_k} {2 ^ n} $, $ k in mathbb {N_0} $ are disjoint two by two and their union covers the interval $[0infty)$[0infty)$[0infty)$[0infty)$. Repair some $ t in[0infty)$[0infty)$[0infty)$[0infty)$. For each $ n in mathbb {N_0} $ there is a unique $ k_n in mathbb {N_0} $ such as $ t in frac {A_ {k_n}} {2 ^ n} $, that is to say.
frac {k_n} {2 ^ n} leq t < frac {k_n + 1} {2 ^ n}.

I would like to show that, for example, $ frac {k_n + 1} {2 ^ n} downarrow t $ as $ n rightarrow infty $. This seems intuitively clear because with the growth $ n $ the ends of the interval are only getting closer. But how can one show this rigorously? It seems like showing that $ frac {k_n + 1} {2 ^ n} $ is a decreasing sequence, its infimum being equal to $ t $ should be enough.

dnd 5th – When the haste spell ends on a creature, do attackers have an advantage over that creature?

It means exactly what he says: No movement (the speed becomes 0), and no action (action, bonus action or reaction *).

The rest of the mechanisms apply normally: no disadvantage, backup if necessary. It does not say that a specific condition applies, so nothing else counts …

* (As noted in the comments and in the associated question.) After the end of haste, can you use a reaction ?, Reaction probably should not be included.
However, my interpretation goes hand in hand with the following sentence: "reaction is a particular action" (PHB quote)

java – Can you tell which thread ends first?

I'm doing a little exercise in Java to learn more about how threads work. My question is whether you can tell which thread ends first.

My code is the following, try to do it with flags and I even used the getState method but I do not know which ends first, so the screen copy is "T or L (as the case may be) it is finished first

Public class Threads {

private static int i = 0;
private static int j = 0;
public static void main (String[] args) {

Thread t = new Thread (new Runnable () {@ Replace public void run () {to ();}});
Thread l = new Thread (new Runnable () {@ Replace public function void run () {li ();}});

t.start ();
l.start ();

public static void to () {
try {
for (i = 0; i <= 20; i ++) {
System.out.print ("T" + "");
Thread.sleep (100);
if (i == 20 && j <= 20) {
System.out.println ("The t is finished");

} catch (InterruptedException e) {}

public static void li () {
try {
for (j = 0; j <= 20; j ++) {
System.out.print ("L" + "");
Thread.sleep (50);
if (j == 15) {
System.out.print ("I fell asleep");
Thread (1000);

if (j == 15) System.out.print ("I wake up");

if (j == 20 && i <= 20) {
System.out.println ("The l is finished");
} catch (InterruptedException e) {}

I appreciate any help in advance.

xubuntu – Thunar – deleted both ends after copy

Use Thunar 1.6.15 and copy large multi-gigabyte files from my main Xubuntu system to a Windows 10 share.

After the copy attempt, not only the copy failed, but it also seems to have deleted the file from both sides. The file I was trying to copy has disappeared and I can not find it anywhere.

I did a simple drag-and-drop in Thunar, so I think it was using SMB support from gvfs.

It's embarrassing but not the end of the world. I can recover the data but it will take a little time.

In the past, it seemed to me that I could copy large amounts of data if I did it one at a time. But if I drag on several large files, I have problems.

Any ideas on what happened here?

Help with a script for Google sheets so that both ends of a link can be edited

I have therefore found an excellent answer to a question regarding the connection of two different worksheets with a link that would allow you to edit one or the other and the other to update it. I found an excellent page about it, but I'm not sure how to proceed. Enforce.

var targetID = spreadsheet-id;
var targetSheetName = & # 39; Sheet1 & # 39 ;;

function onEdit (e) {
// Get the properties of the event object
var range = e.range;
value var = e.value;
// Get the position of the cell
var row = range.getRowIndex ();
var column = range.getColumnIndex ();
exportValue (row, column, value)

function exportValue (row, column, value) {
var ss = SpreadsheetApp.openById (targetID);
var s = ss.getSheetByName (targetSheetName);
var target = s.getRange (row, column);
target.setValue (value);

So, to give you a glimpse of what I see here: I understand that the first two lines are placeholders for later, the onEdit function has a variable e (I'm not quite sure what that means but I'm having trouble with it now). Then, in the next two lines, you define the range and value of the area that will be updated, and I do not know how to change the range and value, for this to work.

Then, the line is the line in which it is located, column is the column in which it is located, and then the function uses the exportValue function to paste the data into the other worksheet.

So, these bits that I do not understand are the lines 6 and 7, the parts range and value, the need for e and imagine how it works permanently.

The goal is to have a master spreadsheet and then many small spreadsheets that are just a master sheet so that specific people can see only specific pages of the master spreadsheet.

Thanks in advance

The installation of Oracle XE on Windows 10 Pro ends abruptly

I have downloaded Oracle XE 18c for 64-bit Windows and tried to install it on a Windows 10 Pro computer. I've checked the checksum SHA-256 and it's ok.

The installation starts well, but when it copies new files, it suddenly says "Cancel installation", then ends and there is no error log to view (I do not have a% folder Program Files% / Oracle with the results). Ideas?

Note: I had the same problem with Windows 10 Home, and then upgraded to Pro, but the problem persists.
