local area network – read-only access on Frtizbox FTP

I am trying to access the contents of my hard drive which is connected to a FRITZ!box 7490. The FRITZ! box can be accessed by both SMB and FTP. Sometimes I need to access files from outside of the FRITZ network so I use FTP and access it over the internet with a subdomain from afraid.org My problem is that, even though I have set the webGUI to allow access for me to access the files, I still get a read-only error. See below:

ftp – Copy OVF file from ESX5.6 across a network to a NAS File System

I have some AD2003 VM in ESXi 5.6 VSphere, Vcenter hosts. I want to move these VM to a remote ESXi 6.x VSphere hosts. I plan to use export and import the OVF files of the power-off VMs. We have a NAS that I want to use for the VM transfert. My question is :

  • After the export of the VMs on a local directory in VCenter or Vsphere hosts, is it possible from VSphere or VCenter to make a mount of a remote disk on the NAS, knowing that there is an already network path between these locall hosts and the NAS.
  • Likewise is it possible to import the OVF files
  • if it is possible , what are the procedure and the commands on VMWare system.

Thanks for your response.
Kind regards
NGUYEN MC

hosting – How can I view or FTP into my WordPress site hosted on AWS?

If this is the wrong site for this, I apologize. I am not a WordPress developer, but I have a small bit of WP experience.

Does anyone know how I could view the file tree of a WordPress site hosted on AWS? I am trying to migrate a WordPress page for a non-profit from AWS to another hosting service. Unfortunately, AWS console is clogged with dozens (hundreds?) of non-descriptive product names, and something like viewing your hosted files is not given any intuitive guideposts. I feel like I’m getting warmer with the EC2 console, but I don’t see even a FTP server address.

I would like to FTP into the hosted page, or at the very least, view the hosted files.
Can anyone point me to where these tool are hiding in AWS console?

Many thanks.

Windows 10 File Explorer – Prevent FTP Connection From Opening In New Window

I’m using Windows 10 Professional v20H2. I set up a new FTP network connection in File Explorer. When I click on the connection, it opens the list of files and folders on the FTP server in a new window. What I’d like to happen is to have the folder view shown beneath the connection instead of opening a new window.

Is this possible? If so, how do I configure Windows 10 to make this happen?

Why I don’t see the list of directories in my FTP site in IIS?

I created an FTP site. I set anonymous access to true, and I enabled anonymous authentication.

I checked it using Windows Explorer on my server and I could see the list of my directories using this addresses:

ftp://host:port/
ftp://ip:port/

However, I can’t see the content of my FTP in FileZilla. And here is the log:

Status: Resolving address of DOMAIN
Status: Connecting to IP:PORT...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Status: Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS.
Status: Logged in
Status: Retrieving directory listing...

Response: 257 "/" is current directory.

I’m stuck at this point. What is wrong?

I use Windows Server 2012 R2 and IIS 8.

ftp – FileZilla and IIS: GnuTLS error -110: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated

I’m trying to connect to a VPS running Windows Server 2019 using Filezilla Client, but get the error

GnuTLS error -110: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.

My Let’s Encrypt certificate is set for domains: www.example.com, example.com, ftp.example.com
My IIS configuration is set to use this certificate on both the global level (see screenshot 1) and on the FTP level (see screenshot 2).

My FileZilla settings (using Default transfer mode, but I tried Active and Passive too with the same error)

Resulting in this logging in FileZilla:

Status: Resolving address of www.example.com
Status: Connecting to 15.200.12.44:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 Microsoft FTP Service
Command: AUTH TLS
Response: 234 AUTH command ok. Expecting TLS Negotiation.
Status: Initializing TLS...
Error: GnuTLS error -110: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.
Status: Server did not properly shut down TLS connection
Status: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted".
Error: Could not connect to server

Connecting without SSL
I tried to connect without SSL, so set FileZilla to Use explicit FTP over TLS if available.
And on my VPS I configured it to Allow SSL connections (and not require):
enter image description here
I then get the following notification but I AM able to connect:
enter image description here

My guess is it HAS to do with the certificate, but I don’t know what.
I Googled for the error, and tried some debugging like recommended here and here.

I also tried WinSCP, but still can’t connect, so unlike some sites claim it’s a FileZilla bug, I think I need to look for it on the server. But I’m lost on what to check now.

How to scan for malware and download a pdf within an ftp address?

This top result of a Google search for positive semidefinite matrices diffusion mri:

ftp://ftp.cc.ac.cn/pub/home/dyh/papers/ChenDaiHanSun-SIIS2013.pdf

is impossible to open, even though there is no password requirement. Google offers scarce information:

enter image description here

Using virustotal.com, all the information I could find was about the domain:

Domain Name: cc.ac.cn
Domain Status: ok
Sponsoring Registrar: 易介集团北京有限公司
Name Server: ns.cc.ac.cn
Name Server: ns.amss.ac.cn
Registration Time: 1997-02-03 00:00:00
Expiration Time: 2025-07-01 00:00:00
DNSSEC: unsigned

which isn’t much if you Google what this company does.

It calls for an app or extension to open it, so I looked for a pdf extension to no avail (Adobe reader didn’t seem to work, although I didn’t install it as an extension). The ftp protocol presumably makes the site unrecognized by virus total as a URL: No matches found.

How can I make sure the site is safe, and download this pdf in Google Chrome (Windows 10 or Android)? Is there a standard app to open ftp documents?
