miui – Disable Google Assistant Gesture

Im using Miui 12.5 in my Redmi 9, and for navigation im using gestures(swipe up for menu, swipe from corners to center to go back, etc), but sometimes when swiping up, instead of going back to home screen it shows the google assistant(like in the image) and i could not find where to turn this off. How can i disable this behavior?

android 11 – Gesture to go forward a page on Firefox

I really don’t like how swiping on the right side of the screen causes Firefox to go back a page. Can this be changed to go forward instead of back?

As an aside question: is there a hierarchy in terms of the way gestures get applied? In order of increasing precedence, Android settings -> launcher -> app

usability – Admin gesture for full screen TV app

I am making an app for use on a TV and it will show some content in full screen. That means there will be no “admin” button or “gear” icon to use to get to an admin area where the app can be configured.

However, I need the owners of the app/tv to be able to configure it.

I imagine using some kind of gesture which can allow access to configure the app. However, seeing that it is a TV, there may not be any access to control it using fingers, so the gesture has to be somehow possible to do with something as clunky as maybe a TV remote.

What do you think? Is a gesture the right choice? And if so, which gesture would be intuitive and indeed possible?

React Native rotation pan gesture wrong starting position

I’m still new to RN and trying to add rotation using a pan gesture. The rotation is working, but when i first click on the item it causes the a rotation without any movement. Is it because i need to know the starting position of the rectangle?

raycasting – Pinch Gesture for Function Other than Zooming- Unity

I’m working on a game in which I want to pinch outwards on a character, which causes the character to split into 2 smaller copies of itself.

The method I’m thinking about using is to have the “pinch out” gesture destroy the game object and simultaneously create two instances of the smaller game object, and have them follow the fingers that pinch out. The action would also be reversible with the “pinch in” function.

My idea would be to do a raycast to detect the two-finger touch on the object (would I need a collider for that?), then use the beginning and ending touch points to determine if it is pinching out or in.

The problem is I am brand new to Unity and C# and have no idea how to write all of this. All of the tutorials for multi-touch gestures have to do with camera zoom, which is not what I am going for.

Can anyone tell me if I’m on the right track with my logic and provide some guidance on writing the code?

applications – Multi app stacking on gesture navigation

I’m on Android 10 and theres 4 system navigation modes

One with the 3 icons on the bottom, one with only 2 and some gestures, one like the first one but the icons are invisible and the last one (that I use) who use iPhone-like gestures with one horizontal bar and the return on the different edges

I was used in the past to use the “one like the first one but the icons are invisible” and to stack 2 apps at the same time I was used to hold the “recent apps” button, but now, where is that button? I know how to open “recent apps” with that set of gestures but It doesn’t trigger the stacked apps, but the “stacked apps at “recent apps button” hold” option is activated, so it should work

Is anybody understand?

swift – Default left swipe gesture of navigation controller

I have a view controller , which is inside a UINavigationController.
The ViewController has full size UICollectionView and the UICollectionView has a single UICollectionViewCell which I use to display images in paginated manner.

Since the UICollectionView is pinned edge to edge , from all directions i.e top bottom leading and trailing anchor, the default left swipe gesture of UINavigationController is not working, it ends up swiping the cell instead.

How can I make sure the default left swipe works too.

mobile – Gesture driven interfaces and hint animations – good or bad?

Many times I saw statements that “Interface/design you need to explain is a bad design”. I do agree with it (e.g. if you have nav bar then having labels under/next to icons is beneficial), but I wonder when we should stop applying this rule. Gesture driven interfaces are quite popular but you need to let user know he can perform some gesture on it to perform action, for example swipe to delete. How user will know he can simply delete item from list without animation that will show this (mobile email clients usually have such animation to show user can archive/delete email by swiping). Does that mean gesture driven interfaces are bad UX? I don’t think so, but it’s just my opinion.

Are there any studies on topic of using gesture driven interface + explicit hints in form of animations vs simple buttons? Or just on gesture driven interfaces?

catalina – Edge swipe gesture to open notification center on macOS no longer works

Recently, the edge swipe gesture to open the Notification Center stopped working on my MacBook Pro. It happened around the same time that I moved to Catalina, but I don't know if it is related. I have also confirmed that the setting is still enabled (screenshot below). It works well if I click the button at the top right. Any ideas on how to solve? Thank you.

os – Pixel 3A Android 10 Assistant starts automatically and stops gesture, unable to reset connected devices

I have a brand new Pixel 3A with the recently updated Android 10 update.

Google Assistant has been activated in my laptop bag.

I guess this is due to the incessant incentives Google displays on the screen, and of course, the new Android does not turn off the screen when you press the power button, it leaves a screen “ awake & # 39; & # 39; who can answer. Well, whatever the situation, the wizard is activated and this causes a number of problems, and I cannot deactivate it.

The main issues are:

  • The wizard repeats continuously on the obscure functioning of the system. Voicemail messages such as "Check for WebAPP updates" "Download update" "10% downloaded, etc."
  • The assistant stops the phone every time all event state changes Examples of this are "Home screen 1 of 2, double tap to activate", etc., etc., etc., etc., fully support the 39; user interface.
  • The user interface is now a triple tap pause system. To do anything, you tap an icon and wait for it to be highlighted (when a flow of help instructions is read), then double tap for it 39; activate. This happens for each tap including back buttons, home buttons, etc. The system is now an incredibly slow novice system.
  • Gesture system is disabled. This is the real killer. Without the gesture system, you are only locked in what is visible. You cannot enter the app drawer, for example. And you cannot go beyond the items displayed in the settings screens.

My problem is:

The instructions to deactivate the wizard are as follows:

  • Open the google app

  • Tap the compass at the bottom right

  • Press the profile button at the top right

  • Tap the wizard

  • Scroll down to the Connected Devices section and turn it off.

BUT gestures and scrolling are disabled

You can see the Face Match setting, but the connected devices are somewhere far below. And we can't do it. Not for love nor for money.

In Android 9, I could deactivate with a voice command.

It seems to have disappeared.

Is my only solution to do a factory reset?

Anyone with a solution for me?
