dnd 5e – In what ways are high level martial characters better than a high level spellcaster with True Polymorph?

I am a DM running a high-level campaign. My group has recently leveled up to 17, and one of the casters has taken True Polymorph. They have stated their intent to turn into the most powerful kind of dragon allowed by the spell, and use it in combat.

I am worried that the martial classes (Paladin & Rogue) in the party will feel overshadowed by this – after all, with a prep time of 1 action, this caster can turn into an Adult Gold Dragon that almost certainly possesses better mobility, greater or equal damage output, and a health pool twice or more the size of theirs. When that health pool is depleted, they return to “only” a 17th level caster down their 9th level spell slot.

So, I am asking this question to identify the ways in which high level martial characters can excel in their niches in ways that this caster cannot just by turning into a dragon/other high CR creature.

My intent with the answers I get is to implement them: i.e. structure the game such that it is one that supplies a set of challenges that make the martial characters feel useful and powerful, rather than a set that make them feel outclassed by the shapeshifted caster, regret their class choices, and feel like “transitional characters” whose only purpose was to get the casters to level 17.

Post name permalinks File not found — Mac High Sierra

I have read the instructions on the WordPress site, and have read some lengthy posts here but nothing specific to this environment

Mac OS X High Sierra
PHP v 7.1.33
Apache v 2.4.33
Wordpress v 5.4.1

1) Uncommented LoadModule rewrite_module libexec/apache2/mod_rewrite.so in httpd.conf

2) Created a new .htaccess in my wordpress root directory (permissions 666):

RewriteEngine On

RewriteBase /wordpress/

RewriteRule ^index.php$ – (L)

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

RewriteRule . /wordpress/index.php (L)

3) Changed httpd.conf

AllowOverride All

Require all Granted

I have restarted the apache. Shut down and restarted the Mac.
Still get a 404 when I set permalinks to Post name.

bootcamp – Boot Camp requiring disk on High Sierra

I’m running High Sierra on my late-2009 iMac.

In the past, I’ve not had trouble installing Windows 7 with Boot Camp on older versions of Mac OS

But this time, I’m getting the following error before I reach the partition page:

The installer disc could not be found.

Insert your Windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc
to be recognized.

Things is, I don’t have a Windows installer disk… I downloaded an ISO for Windows 8.1 from the Microsoft website.

It might be worth also pointing out that the disk drive on my iMac no longer works, I’m not sure if this is related to me using High Sierra or whether the drive itself has just died.

Does Boot Camp require me to install Windows from a DVD? I just want to install it from the .ISO file like everyone else.

I could possibly purchase an external DVD drive and then figure out how to create a bootable Windows disk using that… but that seems like a lot of effort for something that might not even work.

postgresql – High RAM usage during Postgres PITR

We’re currently running Postgres 10 in our infrastructure with Barman managing weekly full backups and holding onto the WALs. Because of the size of our DB, the WAL volume, and resource constraints when we need to restore and scrub a copy into non-prod it’s cheaper to restore it to a staging server with reduced resources, and then clone the datadir to the actual non-prod nodes.

However, with the increase in WAL traffic over time, recently if I can’t convince the requestor to go with a PITR close to the weekly full the restore process will consume a massive amount of RAM, dipping into swap, and becoming insufferably slow. Restarting it in the middle seems to reset this trend, mucking up any automation, but I’m wondering if there’s a reason for this behavior or a way to address it.

HELP – high server load but low cpu usage

which command i need run ?

that would be the reason for showing high cpu usage on monitors? that’s my first concern i don’t have any performance issue right now, but seeing high usage worries me a bit because i have traffic spikes on certain hours.
