I've always had problems with my Precision 5530 (16GB RAM, Quadro P2000, Intel 8850H) in hibernation mode. It uses Ubuntu drivers 18.04 + NVidia 410 (via apt). Never had problems with graphics drivers. I just reinstalled the system, so the changes are minimal, but nothing has changed yet.

At first, before changing the exchange configuration, there was a 2GB swap file. When you come out of hibernation, only a black screen with a blinking cursor (underscore) appears. No answer when you try to open TTY terminals.

I realized that the exchange file might be too small to hibernate. Since the previous installation, there was still a 34 GB swap partition that I had not bothered to refuse. After setting resume = to UUID in the grub configuration and initramfs-tools, updating grub and ramfs and mounting the partition at startup, I tried again. On awakening, a rather cryptic message was displayed on me, and the system time seems to leap to extremely high numbers. Nevertheless, TTY does not respond and I have to force the shutdown of my system.

I am a bit of an end of mind here. I've included a syslog, where blocking occurs before stopping Dec 23rd at 23:00:08. If anyone can enlighten us on this, I would be very grateful to you.

Small update: running suspended idle manually

echo gel> / sys / power / state

gives me the lock of the underline screen. Suspend from the GUI gives me the second type of blocking.
