What can Trump supporters possibly say to defend Trump after he ignored the report on Russia having bounties on US Troops?

1) The intelligence services get thousands of reports every day and they are not passed on to the president unless they are corroborated. You don’t want POTUS to be worrying about things that are probably not true.

2) We know the NYT report was not completely true because they claimed POTUS was briefed and both the White House and the Director of National Intelligence say otherwise. (Doesn’t President Trump get into lots of trouble when he is thought to be disbelieving of his intel agencies? Are we doing it now?)

3) Seeding false stories to known groups of people is a good way to catch any leakers. If that false story gets out then you are part way to tracking that pathway.

4) Leaking a story and blaming POTUS which will cause MSM outrage then point back to the real story which implicates someone else is a tricky smart move. It lets the MSM commit themselves and makes it harder for them to spin it or backtrack.

This could have been the original story. Note the date. <Iran is paying Taliban fighters $1,000 for each U.S. soldier they kill in Afghanistan> http://www.nbcnews.com/id/39014669/ns/world_news-s…

Why is Trump’s response to the reports of Russia and bounties on US Troops the same as his response to COVID-19? “I take no responsibility”?

So many lies in one question.

President Trump’s response to the false reporting about the Russian bounties is to deny all the lies contained in it.  Good people should always denounce lies.  Why don’t liberals denounce lies?

People who are honest and truthful know you are also LYING about that being Trump’s response to COVID-19.  That was Trump’s response to questions about the missteps by the CDC in the creation of test kits.  This is because it is the CDC and not the office of the president which creates test kits.

Isn’t it time you grew up and stopped lying?

us citizens – Conflicting information about COVID-era international travel to Russia

My family (dual-US-Russian citizens) wants to travel from Chicago, US to Moscow, Russia this summer to visit our grandparents, but we have gotten very conflicting information about whether this is possible:

  • KAYAK/Google Flights show the normal set of tickets for every possible date.
  • The Russian Embassy claims that these tickets do not actually go through, and that the only way to get to Moscow is through a special, ad-hoc, Gosuslugi-managed Aeroflot flight that departs from New York to Sheremetyevo every so often.
  • Flightradar24 confirms the existence of this flight, but also shows a small number of other passenger flights to the Moscow airports, such as a series of flights from Instanbul to Vnukovo. Their status is unknown, and the Vnukovo website doesn’t show them, but the Turkish Airlines site does (?).
  • Additionally, some of our Russian friends have confirmed other ways of getting into the country. A friend leaving Sheremetyevo a few days ago said that he saw an arriving flight from Europe. Other friends claim that people are entering the country through Minsk (where the government doesn’t acknowledge COVID), and only then flying to Moscow. And yet others claim that no flights exist.
  • To complicate things further, the Russian Embassy COVID information site claims:

Effective March 16, travelers from the United States to Moscow are subject to a fourteen-day self-quarantine

However, we have not been able to find information about whether this is still in effect across all of Moscow’s airports, and how this quarantine is enforced. Moscow has recently lifted nearly all of its COVID safety measures, but whether this applies to the international travelers quarantine is unclear.

Can anyone shed some light on this complicated situation?

student studying in Russia applying for Canada

I am currently studying in Russia, question 7 I have in the form https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm1294e.pdf is about current residence, it says: The dates (From – To) you have been living in your country or territory of residence.

This is the guide: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5269-applying-study-permit-outside-canada.html

1) “have been living”, well, “to” should mean the date I submit, or the date my visa expires?

2) I also, have a question about high school diploma, should I attach it with university transcripts or not? since I still have not finished my university degree. The document checklist mentions nothing about diplomas since I am applying online, but when I applied on paper last year, it says diplomas since last two years of high school.

3) Is the letter of explanation addressed to my home country embassy or the embassy of residence country?

[ Politics ] Open Question : Russia gave us Trump. China gave us coronavirus. How should we get back at them what they have done?

*FOR what they have done?

borders – Can you walk from Lithuania to Poland through Russia (Kaliningrad Oblast)?

I have done that trip in the other direction, but you are not allowed to cross the border by foot. I cannot comment on entering Kaliningrad Oblast from Poland by foot, as I have taken the bus from Gdansk. It seemed more difficult to enter Russian territory than to leave it in a slightly unusual way. Nick’s tip on an alternative border point might be worthy checking out.

Exploring the stretch of the Curonian spit between Zelenogradsk and Nida is something I can highly recommend. While the coast of Kaliningrad oblast up to and including Zelenogradsk is extremely touristic with a negative effect on nature, the parts further back on the Curonian spit are beautiful and calm.

The border crossing at Morskoe is very quiet. There is a bus that you can catch there, however it doesn’t go very frequently and you might have to make a deal with the driver to drop you off earlier behind the border crossing. In my case I hitched a ride over the border after about 45 minutes of waiting time. I got help from the border guard who asked locals crossing the border in their car to pick me up.

Another thing to consider is that you officially need to register your place of residence if you plan on staying for longer that 10 days. For this it might be easier to stay at a hotel for at least one night in Kaliningrad and acquire the invitation for a visa through them. My couchsurfing host was not able to register me, it was refused on the basis that my invitation was not from him, so I had to rush my trip a bit. You might get away with a fine when exiting the country if you stay longer.

I understand that this was a bit more descriptive than a straight up answer, but I hope it helps with your trip and good luck!
