How do I change the template specifically for single posts?

My goal is that when someone clicks on a post, the page they are taken to has no sidebar cluttering the view. I want them to focus on the content. I only want the sidebar to appear on the homepage, which in my specific case is the page where all posts are loaded in order. All static pages on the site have customization options in WordPress’ page editor, so my only issue is the page that appears after you click “Continue Reading”

I’m using WordPress’ “Period” theme as the parent, and editing in a child theme. The template I want to apply to all single posts is Period’s “Full-Width” template. There is no single.php file in the Period theme, so I created one in my child theme. I already tried duplicating the template into my single.php file, but that didn’t change anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Here is my website (it’s definitely not finished yet): https://thoughtversation.com/

And here is my single.php code:

    <?php
    /*
    ** Template Name: Full-width
    */
    get_header(); ?>
    <div id="loop-container" class="loop-container">
        <?php
        if ( have_posts() ) :
            while ( have_posts() ) :
                the_post(); ?>
                <div <?php post_class(); ?>>
                    <article>
                        <?php do_action( 'page_before' ); ?>
                        <?php ct_period_featured_image(); ?>
                        <div class="post-container">
                            <div class='post-header'>
                                <h1 class='post-title'><?php the_title(); ?></h1>
                            </div>
                            <div class="post-content">
                                <?php the_content(); ?>
                                <?php wp_link_pages( array(

                                    'after'  => '</p>',
                                ) ); ?>
                                <?php do_action( 'page_after' ); ?>
                            </div>
                        </div>
                    </article>

dnd 5e – What happens when you use the knock spell on an object with a magical lock that isn’t specifically arcane lock?

The knock spell’s description reads:

Choose an object that you can see within range. The object can be a door, a box, a chest, a set of manacles, a padlock, or another object that contains a mundane or magical means that prevents access.

A target that is held shut by a mundane lock or that is stuck or barred becomes unlocked, unstuck, or unbarred. If the object has multiple locks, only one of them is unlocked.

If you choose a target that is held shut with arcane lock, that spell is suppressed for 10 minutes, during which time the target can be opened and shut normally.

When you cast the spell, a loud knock, audible from as far away as 300 feet, emanates from the target object.

As far as I see it, the description of the knock spell describes 4 things:

  • What the knock spell can target.
  • What happens if the knock spell targets something locked by a mundane lock, or is stuck or barred.
  • What happens if the locking mechanism is specifically the spell arcane lock.
  • The spell creates noise.

Valid spell targets include magical locks. But it doesn’t seem the spell says what it does when such a target is selected (except for create a loud knock sound). This is the case, unless a magical lock is considered ‘stuck’ in which it is according to the spell the lock would be unstucked.

However, the spell says what it does to stuck things where it specifies what happens to a target that is held shut by a mundane lock, or stuck or barred. If magical locks were considered stuck, there wouldn’t have been any need to specifically say what happens to a mundane lock, because it would apply to non-mundane locks too.

I originally asked this question here, but the question unfortunately got edited into a different question. The answer there addresses the question it got edited to. So I feel it is appropriate readdress the main issue in a new thread. For this reason, I don’t think this is a duplicate question, even though I copied the majority of the content of this question from that thread.

dnd 5e – What happens when you use the knock spell on an object with a lock that is magical but isn’t specifically arcane lock?

  • What happens if the locking mechanism is specifically the spell ‘arcane lock.’
  • The spell creates noise.

Valid spell targets include magical locks, but they aren’t a mundane lock, and we have good grounds to presume they aren’t limited to the arcane lock spell either.

Is something locked by a magical lock considered stuck for the purpose of what happens to a stuck object? This would be strange to me because why then do they specify mundane lock. Moreover the part referring to things that locked by a mundane lock, stuck, or barred seems to have an inclination towards the mundane (non-magical), are there magical means of making something stuck which would be included in this description? If so, what is the line between being magically locked and magically stuck?

Is the creation of noise the only result for using the knock spell on a magical lock that isn’t arcane lock?

I’m interested in the answer to this because I’m wanting to break out the dimensional shackles infusion on my artificer. Dimensional shackles seem to be magically locked for all intents and purposes. Moreover the item is designed to prevent teleportation, among any humanoid they were probably made for mages, can a mage simply open them with knock?

microsoft excel – Spreadsheet (Specifically Google Sheets) to generate a line chart with each player’s running score (competition tracker)

I asked this question on https://www.reddit.com/r/excel/comments/mikwvz/competition_tracker_create_publicly_accessible/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3, but didn’t get an actionable (at my level of expertise) answer.

I’m trying to create a competition score tracker/graph that displays this information:

Each time an answer is submitted, the response sheet will display the time of the submission, the player’s name, and 8 “flag” cells, one for each flag in the challenge. The only flags that will have data will be correct flag submissions (thanks to Google Form’s “response validation”), and my expectation is that each player will be submitting once for each flag, although players can and should be allowed to submit multiple flags at once. Once factor that I have to account for is that players might re-submit previously submitted flags, so I want to account for that before the score is tallied and displayed on the graph.

Along the X-axis, the graph would track the time that each answer is submitted.

Along the Y-axis, the graph will display the total score.

Each colored line in the line graph will be a different player (my expectation is approx. 5-10 players total). As I linked in the reddit post, my hope is to display a graph that functionally resembles this one, and I’ll use Google Sheets to “publish” the graph so that it can be viewed throughout the competition.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I’m really hoping to get this built by Tuesday, as my office is trying to run a mini-competition as a skills-refresher in cybersecurity principles based on a recent course a number of our new co-workers just completed.

dnd 5e – When specifically stated “this weapon is magical for overcoming resistances” does that mean it does full damage against a character in rage

Generally speaking, such a feature would not overcome the barbarian’s resistances from their Rage feature.

First, for an example of such a feature, let’s refer to the (NPC) archdruid’s Wild Shape feature, which states:

The new form’s attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances and immunity to nonmagical attacks.

Most of the features I’m aware of are phrased similarly enough to not make much of a difference.

The resistances that are part of the barbarian’s rage are described as the following:

You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

This resistance does not care about the magical or non-magical status of the damage dealt to the barbarian, so “magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances” doesn’t apply here. In the same vein, magical ‘physical’ damage from a spell like catapult, or from weapon attacks with a magical weapon would be halved against a raging barbarian as well (see this Q&A for a more thorough breakdown on this).

This is in contrast to things like air elementals’ resistances, which are phrased as the following:

Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Nonmagical Attacks

Such a set of resistances would be overcome by a feature like the archdruid’s, as the attacks counting as magical means that those resistances are inapplicable. Similarly, those resistances would be ineffective against magical attacks causing ‘physical’ damage, such as thorn whip, or weapon attacks with magical weapons.

For another point of comparison, effects that intend to bypass general resistances that normally would apply seem to be more direct about it- for an example, see the vorpal sword:

In addition, the weapon ignores resistance to slashing damage.

This would bypass the resistances from Rage.

information schema – How to use a query to get the definition of MySQL database objects (specifically the variables they use)

I have written a query to get most of the useful information about the routines in a MySQL database for a database documenter that I am developing.

The code below will return routine name, routine type, routine param list, routine return value (if any), routine definition and routine comment (if any).

However I can’t seem to work out how to return any variables that are used by each routine (either local or session)

Can anyone help me out with the code to get that extra column displayed in my query with the variable names in it?
(Be good if they were concatenated as I have done with the parameters but that’s not too important.)

I would stress that the databases are held on a remote shared server so I cannot log in as root, nor can I access it as local host. ie for example, access to tables like ‘proc’ and ‘users’ and others that would be available to an admin user are denied

The code I have so far that returns most of the information (also included in case it’s useful to anyone else)

food and drink – How late are restaurants open until in Italy? (Bologna specifically)

Four years later, a local writes ;) I answer in covid time (now we are under curfew 10pm to 5am) but what I write applies in general.

Short answer: no, no traditional food in Bologna after midnight.

Proper restaurants close at 10.30pm or 11pm and, yes, very possibly the kitchen closes sooner. After midnight not even kiosks are reliable, out of the “nightlife area” within the city center.

I found some of the page linked in the other answer on a web archive. Some of the venues here listed are discos, pubs or bars. Altotasso is a late night drink place, not really a late night food place; after a certain hour in the evening, you will only get sandwiches and snacks. Arterìa is great to “meet new people”, not really to eat something.

If you are ok with pizzas and bakery products, Gingio is next to the two towers, only closes 6am to 9am and has saved many lives.

The latest night tagliatelle that you can find in town are probably served at Dragon Pub in via della Repubblica. Here you can find proper quality meals with first and second courses…say till 1am or 2am.

Among the proper restaurants, Il Rosso claims to close at 11pm but, I bet, they would serve you food at 10.45pm.
