Question for the civil engineer or surveyor
I have a hypothetical question about the earth (sphere) and a square of land. If I buy at the equator a piece of land of 1,000 square miles over 1,000 square miles, what if I buy a piece of the same size 100 miles south? North Pole? The act with a terrain plan involves a flat terrain that is really convex. If you calculated the diagonals of the flat piece of paper and then measured it with a tape measure, they would not be equal.
