What are some examples of why Python is used with Microsoft Access databases?

I see lots about how to connect Python with Access database, but not anything on why one does it. (Clearly you can see that I am not familiar with Python.) I’ve created CRM applications using Access for both the front-end and back-end. The VBA in Access has allowed me to develop useful applications (for very small businesses!!), but I am always interested in learning what else I could do to make the applications more robust or expansive. I hope I’m not asking too broad of a question- I realize I’m very naive- I just need somewhere to start.
Thank you,
