MSI Wrapper Pro | 4.2 MB
MSI Wrapper is a lightweight software application designed to help users convert EXE files to MSI file format. It sports a clear and intuitive interface that allows you to perform most operations in a few clicks. Since it supports a step-by-step approach, even beginners can learn to configure dedicated settings with minimal effort.

Wrap your exe file in an MSI package
Convert executable installation programs to MSI packages

Deployment via GPO and SCCM
Once your installation program is encapsulated in an MSI package, you can deploy it with the help of Group Policy Objects or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

Silent installation and uninstallation
If your exe supports silent installation, you can also make your MSI silent. You can add parameters to your exe when it is started by the MSI Wrapper.

Control of product properties
When you create your MSI package, you can specify the properties of the package. Properties include information such as product name, manufacturer, icon, version, comments, and so on.

Single entry in installed programs
Windows can show you a list of installed programs. This is where the user will usually uninstall a program. The MSI wrapper will replace the original entry of the encapsulated configuration and ensure that the encapsulated program and the MSI are uninstalled correctly.

Control of the level of altitude
Some installers require elevation in some circumstances and others do not. With the MSI Envelope, you can choose the elevation level that best suits your built-in installer.

User and machine installations
Installation types "per user" and "per machine" are supported. This is used to check whether an installed program is available to all users of the machine or only to the user who is installing.

Restart detection
Most installers can report to the operating system that a restart is required to complete the installation. With this tool, you can map an exit code from the built-in installer so that the MSI package signals the need for a restart.

Batch mode and build script integration
Building your MSI package can be automated. This is useful if you are a software developer and want to integrate MSI Wrapper into your build scripts.

Required configuration:
This tool requires Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 on the machine on which you are creating the MSI file. If you do not already have it, you can get it via Windows Update. Microsoft.NET is not required on the machine running the MSI.
Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016 are supported.
